I'm published!

Gotcha!

Well, I'm not published, but the handspun is mine.  It's Wool Candy Blue Faced Leicester Top in "Cobbler".

I created this mock magazine cover for a photography class homework assignment.  The assignment was to create a magazine cover shot properly lit and also composed to allow for text and all the other stuff that goes on those covers.

Here's the photo without the text.   Not the composition I would ordinarily choose if it was just a photo.

Here's another mock cover with my new Bosworth spindle which I purchased at Madrona.  This spindle will hold a special place in my heart.  It's the spindle I was using in Amelia Garripoli's "Productive Spindle Spinning" class when I graduated from "park and draft".   I didn't think I'd ever be able to draft as the spindle spun (Is there a technical term for this?  "Spindle spinning", perhaps?).  I think this breakthrough was a combination of Amelia's teaching skills and my nifty new spindle.

And in case you're wondering, the fiber is Blue Moon Sheep 2 Shoe in "Sam and Ella".

Spin on!

But with these photography skills...its right around the corner! Those pictures are fabulous!!! Great job!

You had me for a second too - I thought you got a real cover shot. I think that's not to far away though. Stunning photos.

Huh. So it is possible. I am most certainly a park and spin lady. I am nowhere close to being able to keep my spindle spinning. Maybe someday.

That photo cover is great! And your right. The photo alone isn't quite balance . . . or something - it's a gorgeous photo. But with the title and lead, it really highlights the photo. Very cool! Gorgeous yarn.

Goes to show that magazine cover composition is an art in itself & it looks like you've got an awesome handle on it.

Love the fiber & spinning. It definitely takes a leap of faith to start practicing "suspended" spindling. I still cringe every time I go too far & spin too thin so that the spindle really drops. To the floor.

I started thinking, "Hey, I don't have that issue" . Very believable color. Great job!

Ooooohhhh...very cool-all of it! Bosworth spindle-my fav! And where did you take your class? I may take a wheel spinning class at UrbanFauna but I guess I should take a spindling class, too, huh?

OK you big tease!! LOL! You got me too. Awesome job on the assignment though. Both of those are covers that would totally get my attention on a magazine rack.
