Where have you been all my life?

After months (maybe years, there is that Sleeping Beauty thing) of trying to resist the lure of the wheel, I broke down.  Now I'm wondering why I didn't try  spinning sooner.

The feeling of the fiber slipping between my fingers.  It's meditative, peaceful, tactile, satisfying, addictive...I could go on...and on...

I'm a newbie with lots more to learn.  I can't wait!

I was JUST telling my husband that he had better buy me a damn spinning wheel for my birthday since it took me about 45 minutes to spin 10 yards of wool tonight.

Is it faster than a spindle? Easier? I am so curious to see how you do. The yarn already looks fantastic.

HOORAY! and congrats!

Rani -- thanks! Yes, your husband needs to get busy on that birthday present for you. Totally faster than a spindle; although, I still enjoy the spindle.

Funny, I've been looking at wheels myself. I'm hoping to pick up a Kromski Sonata by May. In the meantime, I know squat about spinning. Lots to learn!

Pretty wheel!

I'm going to have to get a whole lot better before I shell out any money for a weel for myself.

Nice wheel!! I like the relaxing feeling I get when I spin. I'm pretty new too so it's not perfect, but relaxing. Hehe how long before IGK's tries it ;)

spinning is facinating. I've promised myself I will try after Bitsy goes to kindergarten. In Colonial Williamsburg (I live close) the weaver takes apprentices! I'm going to find out what it takes to be an apprentice!
