It's here...

Chestnuts
-Chestnuts at the Campo de Fiori Market, Rome

Many have been anxiously awaiting the day. Only a few short hours away.

HAHAAAAHAA! I couldn't look! I thought it was a basket of baby hedgehogs!! HA HAAHA.

BTW, I have been lucky enough to eat roasted chestnuts on the streets of Rome and since then, have wandered aimlessly looking for more.

Hi Rani -- you're right, they kinda do look like baby hedgehogs! :)

I saw those roasted chestnuts on the streets and they sure smelled good, but I passed on them because it was just way too warm to be eating hot roasted chestnuts. Now I'm bummed I didn't.

Being a Bay Area gal, I'd never seen a chestnut, let alone tasted a fresh roasted one until I moved to Japan! One of the many pleasant surprises in a true Autumn Season.
